Manager

Justine Dillon

Justine Dillon is a proud Kombumerri, Noonuccal, Ngugi, and Gorenpul woman with an unbroken connection to her family’s lands and culture. She holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and is the Manager of the Kombumerri Rangers. Justine also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ngarang-Wal Gold Coast Aboriginal Association, continuing her father’s legacy while supporting cultural education, conservation, and community connection to Country.

Ranger Coordinator

Kathleen Nube

Kathleen “Katie” Nube is the Ranger Coordinator for the Kombumerri Rangers and brings over 10 years of experience in conservation and land management. With a further 15 years working in early childhood education and residential care supporting at-risk young people, she has a strong passion for community and mentoring. Katie is also an active wildlife rescuer and rehabilitator with Wildcare Australia and has undertaken on-ground fire training. She is passionate about protecting Country, wildlife, and cultural knowledge for future generations.

Kombumerri Ranger

Kalib Nicholls

Kalib Nicholls is a proud Mununjali, Bundjalung, and Wollumbin man currently studying his Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management. Having worked alongside his Elder and Grandmother since childhood, he developed a strong respect for culture and caring for Country. Kalib also holds a venomous snake handling certificate and has completed on-ground fire training. As a Ranger with the Kombumerri Rangers, he supports conservation and cultural heritage work across Kombumerri Country.

Junior Ranger Trainee

Nikylah Perry 

Nikylah Perry is a Junior Ranger Trainee with the Kombumerri Rangers and is currently studying her Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management. She is a proud Aboriginal woman with connections to the Noonuccal and Ngugi peoples, as well as Māori heritage, and is passionate about learning the skills needed to care for Country and protect culture, wildlife, and the natural environment.
